| A Tarumba -Puppet Theatre is a professional theatre company created in 1994, that has as its main goal the promotion and difusion of theatre, especially of puppet theatre. | ||||||||||||||
| Without any governmental funding, the company produced the adaptation of Christopher Marlowe's Dr.Faustus, Love of Don Perlimplín with Belisa in his Garden by Federico Garcia Lorca, The Tempest by W. Shakespeare, and in 1998, in the spirit of the commemoration of the birth of B.Brecht, created the first adaptation to puppet theatre of the play Mahagonny. | ||||||||||||||

Since 1998, A Tarumba - Puppet Theatre took part in several international puppet festivals: IV Festival Internacional de Teatro de Títeres, Objectos y Visual (Spain, 2002) - Openning of the Festival with the homage to the poet Federico Garcia Lorca with the show "The Love of Don Perlimplín.."; Festival Internacional de Formas Animadas de São Paulo (Brazil, 2001); V World Festival of Puppet Art (República Checa, 2001) - Prize for the Best Dramaturgy - "Amor de Don Perlimplín.."; Darpana Puppet Festival (India, 2000); V International Puppet Festival of Pakistan (Pakistan, 2000); IX Iron Rooster International Puppet Festival (Hungary, 2000); Festival International de Títeres, UNIMA - Santa Fé (Argentina, 1999); Festival Internacional de Marionetas do Porto (Portugal, 1998). |
